Barbara A. Gahring

Barbara A. Gahring, 71, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Feb. 12, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving wife of James E. Gahring.Born in Lancaster on May 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Marie and Walter Lechner.Barbara worked many years in the garment industry at the former W. W. Moyer Co. and Carter?s Inc. clothing manufacturers in Ephrata. After her retirement from the garment industry, she went back to work at Conestoga View as a hostess. She touched many residents? lives with her warm smile, lots of hugs, caring nature, and sense of humor.She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew and loved her.Barbara is survived by her husband, James E. Gahring, Lancaster; three daughters: Geri Lou, wife of William Curtis, Lancaster, Debra, wife of Roland McClune, Lancaster, Sharon, wife of Bill Brodbeck, Red Lion; and four sons: James Findley, husband of Sherri, Parkesburg, A. David Findley, husband of Carla, Ephrata, James Gahring, Jr. husband of Karen, Selinsgrove, and Mark Gahring, husband of Cheryl, Lancaster.Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters: Kathy Longer, Lancaster and Ginger MacLaren, Leola.Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Jere Lechner and a sister, Rose Potts.Friends will be received at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, February 15. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by the Rev. Walter Carter.
