Eric H. Phillips, 20, of ­Oakland, CA died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Lancaster, PA. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Byron E. Phillips and Sherri Q. Pittman, both of Oakland. Eric was a graduate at The Head-Royce School in Oakland, California and currently was a sophomore at Franklin & Marshall College. He was a Dr. Who Fan and Club Member, and member of F&M College One in Four -- Men's Club which focused on Sexual Abuse Intervention and a Radio On Line Host at WFNM Franklin & Marshall College. In high school, he was an AAU basketball player and swimmer. He loved music, intramural sports, dancing and sharing his very wry sense of humor and booming laughter. Always smiling and making others smile, his friends described him as very kind and having a generous heart, the warmest soul anyone had the pleasure of embracing.In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by paternal grandparents: Clyde and Nevis Phillips of Chicago, IL; an uncle Edwin Phillips of Atlanta, GA; maternal grandparents: Gloria and William Smith of Portsmouth, VA and James and Lola Pittman of Chesapeake, VA.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Eric's Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Franklin & Marshall College, 415 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster, Barshinger Center and on Saturday, February 16, at 10:00 a.m. when a Memorial Service will be held at McLean Chapel at Holy Names University, 3500 Mountain Blvd., Oakland, CA 94619.
