A 2-alarm fire Tuesday afternoon damaged a barn in West Earl Township.

The fire, at 1453 Diamond Station Road, was reported at 1:15 p.m. The structure houses hogs.

It is believed that no animals were inside the building when the blaze began.

Firefighters established a fill site at Miley and Metzler roads, where water could be pumped from the Conestoga River to help fight the flames.

Apparatus from at least nine fire companies were called to the scene.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.

The extent of the damage was not immediately available.
