Richard K. Kametz, 70, of Denver, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster.He was born in Ephrata to the late Richard Norwood and Lydia Mary (Andes) Kametz and was the husband of Florence (Bambrick) Kametz with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.Richard was a member of Our Mother Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata. He worked as a learning support teacher at Donegal High School and Ephrata High School. Richard also worked at Tabor Community Service and most recently at Rocky Ridge Auto Sales. Richard was the founding member of the Road Deacons Car Club, a member of the Father Daily Council, Knights of Columbus, OMPH Parish Council, Denver Boy Scouts committee, a founder of Butt Kickers Nicotine Anonymous group in the Ephrata Area, he served on the Denver Boro Water and Sewer Authority and volunteered at the Ephrata Cancer Center.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Meredith N. Kametz of Denver; a son, Brent G., husband of Adrienne (Gemmel) Kametz of Lititz; 2 grandchildren, Lydia and Penn; a sister, Bonda (Kametz) Kramer of Brownstown.A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, from 6 to 8 PM at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by a prayer service at 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial celebration will take place on Friday at 11 AM at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata, with Father John McLoughlin C.SS.R. as celebrant. Final commendation and farewell will be held in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata. Memorial contributions in Richard's memory may be made to Tabor Community Services, 308 E.
