Galen Wilmer Stauffer of Milford, DE, formerly of Nickel Mines, PA, by the Grace of God came home to finish his courageous battle with a long illness. He was safely guided by his angels back to our Father in Heaven on February 7, 2013 at the age of 71.Born on the 27th day of July 1941. He is the son of Ruth E. Miller of Nickel Mines and the late Paul R. Stauffer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Stauffer and Harry Stauffer.He is survived by his three children, Gina L. Vaughn, Lancaster, Toni McDaniel, Willow Street, and Greg Stauffer, Gordonville. Two grandsons, Damion Vaughn husband of Ryan Davis, Colorado Springs, Ryan Vaughn, Strasburg, and one great granddaughter, Addyson Vaughn, Colorado Springs. He is also survived by two brothers, Franklin Stauffer, Leola, Richard Stauffer, Little Britian and two sisters, Evelyn Denlinger, Lancaster and Toye Kauffman, Quarryville.Galen had an entrepreneurial spirit and was self-employed through his entire career. He was an accomplished mechanic and restored autos and built his fleet of seven trucks. He enjoyed driving one of his trucks, boating, his family, and his dogs. He was a free spirit, loved life and laughing and was a selfless, gentle soul.He owned and operated Stauffer Trucking for 35 years, was owner and President of Mispillion Lighthouse Marina & Restaurant for 11 years and he then owned & operated Galen Stauffer Trucking for 11 years.Celebration of life will be held at Lancaster Metaphysical Chapel, 610 Second Street, Lancaster on February 14th, 2013, 6:00 p.m. There will be a meet family at 5:00 p.m. All are invited to join in for a light fare to follow immediately after the celebration at the chapel.In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to LMC in memory of Galen Stauffer.
