A Lancaster man was caught red-handed in the middle of a burglary in Lebanon County on Sunday night, police said.

Junior Omar Tirado-Torres, 27, was charged by Cornwall Borough police with burglary, criminal trespass, loitering and prowling at night, criminal mischief and possessing instruments of crime.

According to police, Tirado-Torres forced his way into an unoccupied home in the 200 block of Spring Hill Lane at 5:47 p.m. That's in the Spring Hill Acres development, about a mile north of the Lancaster County line, off Route 72.

The house Tirado-Torres broke into was equipped with an alarm system, which was triggered when he entered.

A Cornwall police officer showed up at the house about a minute later to investigate, police said.

Inside, the officer found Tirado-Torres in the process of cutting copper plumbing pipes.

The officer took Tirado-Torres into custody without incident, police said.

After arraignment, Tirado-Torres was sent to Lebanon County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
