Security for Obama but not in Benghazi

TO THE EDITORS:

I saw that the 2013 inauguration ceremony, which lasted for two days, will cost taxpayers $180 million. This expense due to the security needed and all the additional frills.

I think back to lack of security on Sept. 11, 2012, where four Americans were killed at the American Embassy in Benghazi and wonder how we can justify spending all that money on the inauguration party but cannot approve urgent need to protect our own people.

This incident was under investigation since September and Secretary of State Clinton only recently testified. That was a scripted joke.

All the Democrats did was praise her work. The Republicans asked the good questions and some got answers and others were ignored.

My opinion is that it was a coverup from the beginning, which is nothing new. This whole investigation was another futile and empty exercise providing nothing.

We are definitely lacking leadership in our country from the top to the bottom of government. I worry what type of role models these politicians are who constantly cannot bet beyond their own egos to make common sense decisions. They seem to forget they are working for us taxpayers.
