FUNDRAISERS:

·The annual 4-H benefit auction will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Farm & Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road.

Specialty items to be sold include a 4-H club-made centennial quilt, log cabin wall hanging and canned goods prepared by Pennsylvania Farm Show winners Deb Berkowski and Dot Martin.

New this year will be a silent auction. Items wiill include pizza gift certificates, car washes and fast food restaurant coupons.

Additional items to be sold include Longaberger & Thirty One products, horse tack and supplies, household items, live plants, crafts, popcorn, honey, apples and cookbooks.

Food items will be sold throughout the day by Ephrata-Cocalico 4-H Community Club members.

·An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held Saturday from 6 to 10 a.m. at the Schoeneck Fire Company, 125 N. King St., Denver.

Cost is by donation. All proceeds will benefit the fire company.

MEETING: Adoptions From The Heart, a licensed, nonprofit adoption agency, will hold a free information meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at 1525 Oregon Pike, Suite 402.

"Learn About Adoption" will cover the adoption process for the group's programs, adoption myths vs. facts and financial assistance.

QUILTING DAYS: Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, will hold February Quilting Days on Saturday, Tuesday, Feb. 19, and Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the Farm Crest Community Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive.

Between 10 and 15 quilts will be set up and ready for volunteers starting at 8 each morning and continuing through the afternoon. Refreshments and a noon lunch will be served.

Donations of quilts, quilt tops or funds to cover the cost of quilt supplies are welcome.

The quilts produced during Quilting Days will be sold at Fairmount's annual benefit auction and chicken barbecue on Sept. 14.

OPEN HOUSE: Lancaster County Christian School is planning several open houses at its Leola and West Lampeter campuses.

The preschool through 12th grade school offers a traditional program as well as a University Model School program.

Open houses for the traditional program will be held at the Leola campus, 2390 New Holland Pike, on Friday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. and Thursday, March 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All who attend the March 14 open house are invited to stay for the opening night of the middle and high school production of "Willy Wonka: The Musical" at 7.

A pre-k and kindergarten open house will be held Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Leola campus.

A University Model School open house will held Thursday, Feb. 21, at 9 a.m. and Thursday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the West Lampeter campus, 651 Lampeter Road.

PROGRAM: "Parenting Children with a History of Harm: What is it that Adoptive Parents Need to Do?" will be the topic of a program planned by Bethany Christian Services.

The program will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m. at 1681 Crown Ave., Suite 201.

Presenter will be Lisa Troncale, program coordinator for post-adoption services at Bethany Christian Services.

Cost is $20 per person or couple. Bethany families are free.

BLOOD DRIVE: The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank will hold a blood drive on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Fairmount Homes Retirement Community, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata.

Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 354-1895. Walk-ins are also welcome until 6 p.m.
