A Clay Township man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly causing a disturbance and fighting with police in the village of Clay.

Jason L. Shirk, 32, of the 2100 block of West Main Street, was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, according to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department.

He was sent to Lancaster County Prison on a probation violation.

According to police, an intoxicated Shirk was "running around the neighborhood, yelling and causing a disturbance" around 9:20 p.m.

Police arrived at the scene and located Shirk behind a house near his own and attempted to arrest him.

Shirk allegedly fought with the officers, who quickly subdued him.

No officers were injured in the fight, police said.

Shirk was treated at the police station for a bloody nose.

According to court records, Shirk was on probation for burglary at the time of his arrest.
