Pearl M. Shiflet, 86, of Lancaster passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Columbia. Pearl was born in the Village of Dillerville, the daughter of the late Noah and Elsie Hershock Shiflet. She is survived by her sister Marie Shrum of Mount Joy. She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.Pearl worked for the former Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster. During WWII, she helped to organize USO gatherings for soldiers departing and returning from Europe. She was a member of Silver Spring Baptist Church and enjoyed baking pastries and cookies. She was loved by many and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.A Funeral Service honoring Pearl?s life will be held at Silver Spring Baptist Church, 4001 Marietta Avenue, Columbia, PA on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11 AM. There will be no viewing, however, Pearl?s family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 AM.
