Junk mail ineffective

TO THE EDITORS:

I received a large cardboard mailer from Disabled Veterans National Foundation. Enclosed was a calculator, a daily planner and a check in my name worth $2.50 and asking for a donation.

Now, really, think of all the money they spent to mail that junk. I certainly will not send a donation, and I strongly encourage other people to also not donate to this foundation.

There are other veterans' groups that may be a little more thrifty.
