Contest Education Lenten series Palm burning service Seminar
n Highland Presbyterian Church will administer the 29th annual Lancaster Interchurch Peace Witness essay contest on "Safe Schools: Peace by Piece" for Lancaster County public, private and home-schooled students in grades nine through 12. Deadline for written and video essays in three divisions is April 13. First-place winners will receive $250; second, $125; third, $75. n Garden Spot Village Retirement Community and Lancaster Bible College will offer adult continuing education classes on "Be Joyful: Philippians" and "Biblical Counseling for the Whole Person" at the village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 20 to April 10. Cost is $120 for two continuing education units per course and a $10 registration fee.
