Melissa Evelyn Plantz

Born September 17, 1916 in Mountain City, Tennessee to Melissa Jane and L.B. Morley, known to the family as "Aunt Eve," she died January 22, 2013 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. For over 60 years, she was married to the now deceased John Howard Plantz, formerly of Gettysburg, PA. She was the last sibling of 3 brothers and 6 sisters, all now deceased. Many years she was occupied as a beautician, in her own shop at her home on Oak Hill Drive. After John retired from the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown, they moved to Deming, NM. In 1993 they moved to Masonic Village Apartments. Together they enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. Although surviving many health issues, Aunt Eve remained a "southern lady," rarely complaining and maintaining a kind, mild spirit. She is survived by nieces: Bonnie Patterson (Johnson City, TN), Nance Pezua (Alexandria, VA), Joyce Dalton (Baltimore, MD), Patsy Carnett (Elizabethton, TN), Mary Jane Krodel (Middletown, PA), Patricia Clevish (Hershey, PA), Sara Hitchens (Elizabethtown, PA) and others; nephews, Peter Shown (Johnson City, TN), James Valentine (Crosby, TN), John Morley (Mukiteo, WA), Richard Weaner (Gettysburg, PA), Edwin and Dennis Morley (Florida) and others. A memorial service was held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown.
