James Richard Danner

James Richard Danner, 76, of New Oxford, PA, entered into God?s eternal care, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his home with his loving ­family by his side.Born January 6, 1937 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Richard E. and Annie E. (Ness) Danner. James was the loving husband of Dorcas M. (Reed) Danner with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.James was a member of Hanover Mennonite Church where he was a devoted ­minister for over 45 years and was a lifelong farmer as well. In addition to his wife, James is survived by four children, Gloria L. Danner of New Oxford, PA, Glenda L. Martin and husband Timothy of Spring Grove, PA, Michael D. Danner and wife Dorinda of Gettysburg, PA, Merlin D. Danner and wife Rachel of New Oxford, PA; 15 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; one brother, Walter Danner and wife Lois of Hanover, PA; two sisters, Naomi Wolff and Elizabeth Herr, both of Hanover, PA. He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Ruth Danner, and two brothers-in-law, John Wolff and Bradley Herr. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA. Burial will be in York Road Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Viewings will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Hanover Mennonite Church, 563 Broadway, Hanover, PA as well as from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday February 11, 2013 at the Hanover Mennonite Church.
