Second suspect nabbed in Clay crime

Police have arrested a second man in connection with a home-invasion robbery in Clay Township last month, and Manheim police have filed additional charges against the first suspect in a separate case.
Jonathon A. Seager, 25, of 200 W. Burkholder Drive, Lititz, was arrested Thursday at his home after a 6:10 a.m. search by officers of the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department and the Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team.
Seager and 25-year-old David Figueroa are accused in a home-invasion robbery Jan. 28, when the two allegedly entered a home in the 1400 block of Furnace Hills Road armed with a wooden mallet and a short-barrel shotgun, according to police.
According to the homeowner, who was asleep upstairs during the robbery, his adult son was sleeping downstairs on a couch when the intruders broke in. One of them pointed the shotgun at his son's face, then forced him to lie on the floor, where they bound his hands with a nylon belt.
The robbers took, among other items, an Xbox 360 gaming system, a Turtle Beach headset, a cellphone, a wallet and cash from the room, police said. They then fled in a truck with a loud exhaust system.
Seager was charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking and unlawful restraint. He was arraigned before District Judge Tony Russell in Ephrata. Figueroa was arrested Jan. 30 and is in Lancaster County Prison on similar charges.
On Feb. 4, Manheim Borough police charged Figueroa in another home- invasion robbery, this one in the first block of West Ferdinand Street on Jan. 30.
During that robbery, Figueroa and another man entered the home early in the morning, police allege. They pointed a gun at the three inhabitants of the home, then bound their hands with electrical wire and stuffed gags into their mouths. The residents also were struck in the face with the gun butt, resulting in one person sustaining a broken nose, and facial lacerations for the other two.
The two thieves then stole items valued at $6,630. They also stole a 2006 Nissan Sentra valued at $8,000.
Later in the day Jan. 30, NLCRPD contacted Manheim police to say they had a suspect, Figueroa, in custody. The stolen items had been recovered when police searched Figueroa's home, police said. Two firearms also were recovered, police said. Manheim police charged Figueroa with robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and unlawful restraint in that case.
