DEAN'S LIST HONORS GRADUATION
n Kate Landis was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at American University in Washington, D.C., where she is a freshman majoring in Spanish studies and elementary education.
A 2012 graduate of Manheim Township High School, she is the daughter of Herb Landis and Karen Kauffman of Manheim Township.
n Four area residents in the Honors College at West Chester University were named to the dean's list for the fall semester.
They are: Caitlyn F. Rivera, a 2009 graduate of Manheim Township High School and the daughter of Alan and Mary Rivera of Lancaster; Lisa C. McMahon, a 2010 graduate of Hempfield High School and the daughter of Chris and Joy McMahon of East Petersburg; Chan To, a 2012 graduate of Hempfield High School and the daughter of Tung and Mai To of Lancaster; and Melissa F. Christie, a 2011 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School and the daughter of Jenise Roberts-Christie of Willow Street.
n Abby Binkley was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at East Stroudsburg University, where she is a freshman majoring in early childhood education/special education.
A 2012 graduate of Ephrata High School, she is the daughter of Michael and Vanessa Binkley.
n Ashley Smith was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Penn State University, University Park, where she is a sophomore majoring in accounting.
A 2011 graduate of Solanco High School, she is the daughter of Roger and Shirley Smith of Quarryville.
n Robert Lehman was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Millersville University, where he is majoring in mathematics in the School of Science and Mathematics.
A 2011 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, he is the son of Mary Jane and Bob Lehman of Lancaster.
n Jaclyn Pennington was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Towson University, where she is a sophomore majoring in family studies/child life specialist.
A 2011 graduate of Solanco High School, she is the daughter of Jim and JoAnn Pennington.
n Joshua S. Miller was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Susquehanna University, where he is studying business.
A 2012 graduate of Lampeter Strasburg, he is the son of Steve and Christine Miller of Strasburg.
n Kevin J. Hines was named to the honor's list for the fall semester with a 4.0 grade-point average at Franklin & Marshall College, where is a senior majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology.
A 2009 graduate of Manheim Township High School, he is the son of Ed and Debbie Hines.
n Shawn M. Hines was named to the honor's list for the fall semester with a 4.0 grade point average at Franklin & Marshall College, where he is a freshman majoring in biology.
A 2012 graduate of Manheim Township High School, he is the son of Ed and Debbie Hines.
n Two area students were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Paul Smith's College in Paul Smiths, N.Y.
They are: Zachary Adams of Newmanstown, who is majoring in fisheries and wildlife sciences; and Brandon Snavely of Newmanstown, an environmental studies major.
Both also were named Adirondack Scholars for having cumulative grade-point averages of at least 3.8.
n Six area students were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Washington College in Chestertown, Md.
They are: Ryan Bankert of Manheim, a senior majoring in business management and Hispanic studies with a minor in economics; Michael Deck of Lancaster, a junior majoring in mathematics with minors in German studies and computer science; Rebecca DeSantis of Lancaster, a sophomore; Jennifer Hanner of Lancaster, a sophomore; Emily Lasdin of Manheim, a sophomore majoring in English with a minor in creative writing; and Caitlyn Riehl of Gap, a senior majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry.
n Two area residents were recognized for their academic achievements at their Jan. 18 graduation from Universal Technical Institute in Exton.
Travis Groff of Strasburg received 10 "Student of the Course" awards for earning the highest grade of the course and 13 Directors List Awards. He also was inducted into the Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Scott Hershey of Kinzers graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average and received 15 "Student of the Course" awards and 22 Directors List Awards. He also was inducted into the Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society.
n Heather Martin, a junior at Philadelphia University, was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Team. She is a starter for the volleyball squad.
A graduate of Conestoga Valley High School, she is the daughter of Megan and Michael Martin of Leola.
n Julie Allan of Lititz received a master of science degree in library science: library science K-12 from Clarion University on Dec. 15.
