Donald J. Wise

Donald J. Wise, 83, of St. John?s Herr Estate, Columbia, went to be with the Lord at Hospice and Community Care Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center, Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Shelly Wise, who died in 2009. He will be missed by his daughter, Pamela K. married to Thomas J. Bronson, Upper Darby and three grandchildren, Samuel, Eliza, and Sarah. A brother, Gerald, preceded him in death.Formerly of Mount Joy, Donald was a member of ­Calvary Bible Church, Mount Joy where earlier he sang in the choir, played on the church softball team, and taught adult Sunday School class. He retired from RR Donnelley, Lancaster and was previously employed by Federal Mogul. During his retirement, he worked for HVAC of Mount Joy. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching various sports on TV, and had a special fondness for tennis, a sport he enjoyed playing himself. Donald also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, but most important to him was the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.A Funeral Service honoring Donald?s life will be held at Calvary Bible Church, 629 Union School Road, Mount Joy on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Randal E. Pelton and Pastor Richard J. Hurlbert officiating. Interment to follow in Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, East Donegal Township.
