LGH should alter pay policy

I have an acquaintance who had a procedure performed at Lancaster General Health, and his insurance paid 80 percent of the bill. That left a $1,700 balance.
The acquaintance contacted the hospital's accounting department to set up payments for the balance. He was told that the minimum monthly payment was $100 per month. The acquaintance explained to them that the most he could pay was $50 per month.
After going up the chain of command through four individuals, he got the same answer, " $100 per month."
He explained to all four that the most he could pay was $50 per month, and was then told, if that's the case, LGH would turn the balance over to collections.
Given your article, Dec. 9, 2012, "Healthy paychecks," stating that 21 Lancaster General administrators were paid $250,000 to $1.35 million in salaries and bonuses, it is quite obvious that LGH has no clue what the average worker (by the way, this person works two jobs) faces to pay everyday expenses.
This is just appalling that this person who wants to pay his bills is not given more consideration by a non- profit organization with so many overpaid administrators like Lancaster General Hospital.
