Assault weapons are unnecessary
TO THE EDITORS:
Would somebody please explain to me why some gun owners think they need assault weapons and high-capacity ammo magazines?
These weapons surely weren't invented when the Second Amendment was written, and they aren't necessary for hunting or self-protection. They were designed for fighting wars.
In private hands, to my understanding, they lead only to killing lots of children in schools and lots of people in theaters.
