Do not tarnish Gundel name

TO THE EDITORS:

As a past employee and part owner of Nauman Construction, I feel it is necessary to respond to recent articles about the Gundel Funeral Homes.

After Oscar Gundel purchased the Duke Street property from Educators Insurance Co., he chose Nauman Construction to perform the renovation work at the present funeral home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gundel were excellent to work with and expressed integrity and professionalism in every detail about the work especially with Nauman employees and subcontractors. They had also shown the same integrity to the clients they served over many years in the funeral business.

The circumstances presently taking place should not tarnish the Gundel family members or the Gundel name.

We should be proud of the professional funeral directors who perform a service to the public in our county, a professional service we will need "sooner or later.''
