Two men shot in city Both treated at local hospital
BY RYAN ROBINSON, Staff Writer
Two men were shot in the city Friday night, police reported Monday.
Officers were dispatched for shots fired in the first block of South Prince Street at 8:25 p.m., city police Sgt. Bill Hickey reported.
They could not find anything at South Prince and West Vine streets.
But at 8:49 p.m., two men appeared at an area hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds, Hickey said. The wounds are not life-threatening.
A 21-year-old Lancaster man was shot twice in his right hand and a 31-year-old Lancaster man once in his left shoulder, Hickey said.
Their injuries are consistent with gunshot wounds from a handgun, he said. Police do not know what type or caliber of handgun was fired.
"No one is in custody," Hickey said Monday. "The identity of the suspect or suspects is unknown."
The victims were in a car stopped at a light at the intersection, Hickey said. An unknown car pulled up next to them, and someone from that car fired shots into their car.
The Lancaster Community Safety Coalition was contacted, and video surveillance footage in the area is being reviewed, he said. Investigation continues.
