TO THE EDITORS:

After reading the Jan. 24 article, "Ex-game official cruel to his dogs," I was very angry that this Conoy Township supervisor, president of Unified Sportsmen of Pennsylvania and former Pennsylvania Game Commissioner only received a measly $100 fine.

These titles make Stephen Mohr appear to be a good citizen who obeys laws. I suppose the warning from the Humane Society official was not important enough for him to clean up the "inches thick mud and feces" his five dogs had to live in.

Mr. Mohr is being given a second chance, according to the prosecutor.

Perhaps we should consider swapping consequences and give these neglected dogs a second chance in a good home and let Stephen Mohr see how he enjoys living in filthy conditions.
