Lancaster city police on Monday said a 40-inch flat-screen television was stolen from an apartment during or after a recent homicide.

Allen W. Hess was found dead Jan. 7 in a first-floor apartment at 248 W. Walnut St., where he had been staying.

No one has been charged with the killing.

Police now say that a TV was taken from the apartment where Hess was slain.

The TV is a Toshiba 40-inch LCD flat-screen with serial number 16T69178K1. It is valued at $530.

Police ask anyone who recently purchased a similar television to check the serial number.

They ask anyone with information to contact Detective Sgt. Nate Nickel at 735-3358. Tipsters also may call Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913 or anonymously text LANCS plus your message to 847411 (TIP411).
