Gloria J. Sumpter

Gloria J. Lerch Sumpter, 74, of Homestead Village, Lancaster passed away on Saturday, February 02, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center, Mount Joy. Her late husband, Hoyt R. Sumpter, died in 2001. She is survived by two daughters: Sherry L. (Douglas) Mull of Lancaster and Donna R. (Randy) Hershey of Quarryville; a son Curtis D. (Kelly Greenawalt) Sumpter of Lancaster, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. Gloria was a member of Stevens Hill Community Church of the Brethren, Elizabethtown. Along with her late husband, they were vendors at local flea markets including Saturday?s Market, and Park City. A former school bus driver for Eshbach Bus Service of Holtwood, she transported students in the Solanco and Penn Manor School Districts. Gloria loved playing pinochle, puzzles, and enjoyed the outdoors, but most importantly spending time with her family. Also surviving are four brothers: Earl, Robert, Dale and Jack Lerch and sisters Stella Cobaugh, Delores Cichan and Jean Shertzer. She was preceded in death by a sister Irene Cobaugh, and brothers Donald, Marlin and Adam Lerch.A Memorial Service will be held from Stevens Hill Community Church of the Brethren, 3131 Turnpike Road, Elizabethtown, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Gloria?s family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
