BY JON RUTTER, Staff Writer

An Elizabethtown man has been jailed on felony charges of sexual abuse of a 4-year-old.

Dane C. Winey, 26, was charged Jan. 13 with four felonies, including aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and possession of child pornography, police said.

Winey was arraigned by District Judge Cheryl Hartman and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The felony charges carry possible prison sentences of 7 years each.

Winey also was charged with indecent assault of a person under 13 years old, a misdemeanor that carries a possible prison sentence of up to 5 years.

The charges were the result of an in-depth investigation of allegations that Winey had sexually abused the child between Dec. 1, 2011, and July 30, 2012, and possessed child pornography on his computer.

The incidents took place in the first block of South Spruce Street, police said.

District Judge Jayne Duncan issued an arrest warrant, and police later took Winey into custody.
