Bensinger, Jr.Robert R. Bensinger, Jr., 75, of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late Robert R. Bensinger, Sr. and Loretta (Hosler) Bensinger. Robert was the husband of Jacquelyn Way with whom he celebrated 21 years of ­marriage.Robert was a 1955 graduate of Tamaqua High School. He attended HACC, Harrisburg Campus for 2 years. He served in the US Army as a military police officer in Korea. Robert was a retired police officer with 25 years of service with the Lancaster City Police Force. He was a member of the American Legion of Lancaster, the Mount Joy Sportsman Club, the Fraternal Order of Police and Planet Fitness. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, traveling with his wife and loved his pets.Surviving in addition to his wife, Jacquelyn, are his 4 children: William Bensinger (Eva) of Illinois, Robert R. Bensinger, III of Lititz, Diane Bensinger of Lancaster, and James Bensinger of Mechanicsburg; 3 grandchildren; 3 stepchildren: Stephanie Reif (Michael) of Manheim, Karen Bennett of Willow Street and Stephen Borchick of Landisville; 5 step-grandsons; and 3 siblings: Verna Raven of Kentucky, Merwin Bensinger of Wernersville and Eileen Bensinger of Tamaqua.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 North George Street, Millersville, PA 17551. Family and friends will be received from 9:30-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA.
