Carol Cave Dubble
Carol Cave Dubble, surrounded by family and friends in her home on January 30, 2013, transferred from the joy of the Lord on earth to the glory of the Lord in heaven.Carol Ann Cave was born on May 26, 1945 to Wilmer & Mary (Klahr) Cave and graduated from Lower Dauphin High School, Hershey Community College, Elizabethtown College, Shippensburg University, and Gettysburg Theological Seminary. She spent one year in Martinsburg, WV, in Brethren Volunteer Service. Carol taught 3rd grade in the Lebanon School District for 13 years until 1981. During these years, she was very much involved in the camping program at Camp Swatara and the Christian Education ministries of the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren. In 1982, Carol married Kirby L. Dubble with whom she would enjoy 31 years of marriage and serve 25 years in team ministry at the Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren. Carol also served as Christian Education consultant to a number of churches as well as serving 15 years as Pastor of Visitation with the Palmyra Church of the Brethren. She and Kirby led many marriage enrichment retreats with Advanced Certification by the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment (ACME). At the time of her death, Carol was a member of the Moonshine United Zion Church and the Mt Wilson Church of the Brethren but also included the Palmyra Church of the Brethren and the Paxton Church of the Brethren as her faith families.Carol had many activities which she enjoyed and many persons whom she loved so much, but none more than her great love for her husband, her son, Christopher Dubble, and her 4 grandchildren, Austin, Cole, Abigail, and Charles. Also surviving are a sister, Barbara Hundertmark, and a brother, Terry Cave. She leaves many family, neighbors, and friends who will miss her very much!A viewing and visitation will be held at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra on Monday, February 4, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A brief graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 5 at the Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10 at the Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra. All are welcome to participate in any or all of these gatherings.Memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Housing Association, Camp Swatara, or Moonshine United Zion Missions.Condolences may be shared at BuseFuneralHome.com
