Gundel exceeded expectations for this family TO THE EDITORS:
I was extremely saddened to see the Page One article in the Sunday News regarding Gundel Funeral Home. This is not the same service we received in the past.
Ben Siar directed my father's funeral and burial in January 2012 and my mother's funeral 12 years earlier. He and the Gundel staff went above and beyond our expectations. They helped lift our family's burden at these times, showing both professionalism and caring.
Since my father's death, something devastating must have occurred in Mr. Siar's life in order to cause such a dramatic change to the wonderful service he provided our family.
Our prayers are with Mr. Siar and his wonderful staff at this difficult and very confusing time.
