Robert C. Hershey, 68, of Strasburg, died at LGH on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 following a brief illness. He was the husband of Sharon L. (Hess) Hershey for almost 42 years. Bob was graduated from Hempfield High School and graduated cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College night division. He was a member of Phi Beta Cappa fraternity.He served in the PA Army National Guard, Troop N (AIR) 104th Armored Cavalry Division from 1965 until 1971.He retired in April 1999 from Management of the Information Systems Department of Armstrong World Industries after 37 years of service.Bob enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking, cars and listening to and recording music. Born in Lancaster, Bob was the son of the late Elwood R. and Vera Virginia (Wolf) Hershey. In addition to Sharon, he is survived by a brother, Elwood R. Jr. married to Doris (McCune) Hershey of Lancaster, two nieces, Tracy Wiggins of Morgantown and Ashlee married to Chuck Hurley of Mount Joy, a great-nephew, Nathan Wiggins and a great-niece, Sara Wiggins.A Viewing will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers.
