A Lancaster man was injured and a Cochranville woman killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Chester County.
State police at Avondale said 80-year-old Mona L. Stanley was killed when her vehicle collided with a pickup truck at Fernwood Drive and Gap Newport Pike (Route 41) just after 2:30 p.m.
The crash occurred in Londonderry Township, about two miles south of Cochranville.
The driver of the pickup, 43-year-old George W. Elliott Jr., was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police.
A nursing supervisor at Lancaster General said Elliott was being evaluated in the emergency department Wednesday night.
Authorities said Stanley was driving a Dodge Aries east on Fernwood Drive when she went through a stop sign at Route 41.
The front bumper of Elliott's Ford F-650 truck, which was traveling north on Route 41, struck the passenger side of Stanley's vehicle, they said.
Stanley was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
State police said neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
