James Small
James Small, 89, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Saviour on January 28, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the husband of Jenny Small, Lancaster, and the late Rose D. Small, who passed away in 1991. He was the son of the late James and Margaret Richmond Small of Stonehouse, Scotland. He will be lovingly missed by his son, A. Graham Small, Elizabethtown; daughter-in-law, Mary Bortner (Small), Lititz; grandchildren, Steven A. Small, Lititz; Susan Small Richie wife of Christopher, West Chester; stepchildren, Daniel Brian Doster, Lancaster; Vicky Foy, Lancaster; and Sandra Fogg, Holtwood. He will also be missed by his family in Scotland, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hislop; niece, Sandra Smith; great-niece, Cheryl Smith and great-nephew, Robin Smith. He was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret, May, Mina, Annie, Susan, and brothers, John and George, all of Scotland. Jim was a long-time employee of Caterpillar in Scotland, Warwick School District and R.W. Sauder in Lititz. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge Union 244 Stonehouse, Scotland. In his younger days, Jim was an avid soccer player, runner, and a Champion on the bowling greens in Scotland. In the 80?s and 90?s, he enjoyed coaching several of the Lititz Youth Soccer Club teams. His fondest memories were of watching his grandchildren, Steven and Susan, as they grew up playing soccer, the sport he loved so much.The family will receive friends and visitors at the Richard H. Heisey Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, PA, on Friday, February 1, with a visitation at 1:00 p.m., a service at 2:00 p.m. Final resting place will be at the Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery, Lititz.
