Edward Etzweiler, 80, of Columbia died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sherlyn S. (Quickle) Etzweiler. Born December 30, 1932 in Columbia, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Moser) Etzweiler.Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.He retired from CorBox in York.Edward was a graduate of Columbia High School, Mercersburg Academy, and Eckels Mortuary School. He was a member of Hempfield United Methodist Church where he was involved in numerous activities. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #307, Columbia and a member of the Columbia Lodge 286 F. & A.M., Abel-Poff-Leithiser American Legion Post 469, Wrightsville, the Forresters, and the Owls. He was an avid train collector. Edward loved to boogie board at the shore with his granddaughters and especially loved spending time with his great granddaughter.He is survived by a daughter, Annette M. Etzweiler and her companion, Robert Snyder of Wrightsville; a son, Edward R. Etzweiler and his wife, Lori of Columbia; 4 granddaughters, Krista M. Abel and her husband, Elgin of Yorkana, Amanda L. Snyder of Wrightsville, Mandee M. Etzweiler of Columbia, and Abigail L. Snyder of Wrightsville; a great granddaughter, Shianne M. Able of Yorkana; and a sister, Sara Anne Linkous of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Etzweiler.Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville with Pastor Bruce Lefever, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Silver Spring Cemetery, Lancaster County. Viewings will be held Thursday, January 31st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. both at the funeral home.
