Impatience can lead to disaster

TO THE EDITORS:

People's impatience bothers me. Butting in line, sitting on a driver's tail, turning left in front of you at a red light, cutting people off -- all of it is rude and obnoxious.

What gives people the right to nominate themselves to be superior over others? Why can't they wait for a better opportunity to pull out? Why do they get to wait less time than others?

Impatience can cause disaster and pain. In one case, a woman lost a husband and two kids because of an impatient driver rushing to work.

Other times, being impatient exemplifies stupidity. For example, one driver got his Porsche 911 stuck in cement because he tried to go around a line of cars.

Store customers have even been known to face charges that all started with butting in line.

Overall, it is better to have patience and wait. Being impatient doesn't do anyone any good; it doesn't gain much.

When will people learn?
