n Penn State is no longer on Virginia's 2013 schedule.
Virginia was supposed to visit Beaver Stadium on Sept. 14, the return trip after the Nittany Lions lost 17-16 in Charlottesville last September.
But Penn State athletic director Dave Joyner said Monday in a statement that Virginia informed the Nittany Lions it wouldn't be visiting Happy Valley in order to play a home game, and that he hoped to find a replacement soon.
n Former Tennessee coach Pat Summitt already had the Thompson-Boling Arena court named after her. Now she also has a banner hanging from the rafters in her honor.
Tennessee unveiled the banner Monday before the ninth-ranked Lady Vols' game with No. 2 Notre Dame.
Summitt stepped down in April after leading Tennessee to eight national titles and 18 Final Four appearances in 38 seasons. She announced in 2011 that she has early-onset dementia, Alzheimer's type.
"It got a little ugly toward the end. I started losing patience a little bit with the slow play. I lost my concentration a little bit." -- Tiger Woods, who, despite dropping four shots over the last five holes, still managed an even-par 72 for a four-shot victory in the Farmers Insurance Open.
