James V. Ackerman

James V. Ackerman, 73, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013. He was the husband of Rose Mary Habel Ackerman. He was born in Columbia, son of the late James B. Ackerman and Helen Doerrer Helm. He worked in the Tapping Department at ITT Grinnell Corp. before his retirement in 2003. He was a veteran of the US Army, ­serving during the Vietnam Conflict.Surviving in addition to his wife, one son: Kevin J. Ackerman, Columbia. Two sisters: Fay (Paul G.) Mowrer and Janet M. Huggins, all of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one sister: Sandra Cannon.Private Graveside Service and Burial will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors.
