Kenneth R. Gentzler, age 83 formerly of Intercourse, passed away at the Mennonite Home on Saturday, January 26, 2013. He was the husband of the late Lena I. Yoder Gentzler who passed away in March of 1998. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late William & Elizabeth Walter Gentzler. He was a member of Paradise Bible Fellowship Church and was attending Calvary Church of Lancaster. Ken was a butcher for Stoltzfus Meats of Intercourse for over 40 years. After retiring he worked part time for Manheim Auto Auction for over 10 years. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, tending his roses, photography, music and was an avid Phillies fan.Surviving are 4 children: Diane wife of Clair Martin of Lititz, Darlene Mylin of Lexington, KY, Jay Edward husband of Kathryn Woodburn Gentzler of Ephrata, Donald husband of Kristen Smith Gentzler of Gordonville, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Louise Gentzler of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Mary Groff, Minnie Cain, Grace Shirk, Lester, Gilbert, Earl, Roy and Melvin Gentzler. Funeral service will take place from the Paradise Bible Fellowship Church, 3092 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA on Friday, February 1st, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Omar King & Pastor Ralph Soper officiating. There will be a viewing at the Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
