"Robert" MellottBobby F. "Robert" Mellott, 75, of St Catherine Street, Quarryville died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was born in Holtwood, a son of the late Ira and Cleo Strait Mellott. He was the husband of the late Ruth Ann Fite Mellott who died February 24, 1991. A truck driver for 35 years, Robert retired from Edgar M. Herr Trucking in 2000. He was a member of Teamsters Union #463. Robert?s hobbies were a love of the outdoors with family and friends, attending auctions, listening to country music, and sharing jokes with everyone. Surviving him are four children, Lisa wife of Benjamin Sheets, Douglas Mellott and his wife Jackie, Michael Mellott and his wife Denise, Denny Mellott and his wife Beth; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a companion Rosalie Phillips; and a sister Maxine Flory. Robert was preceded in death by five siblings, Emmer Geib, Marden Geib, Ray Mellott, Chalmer Mellott, and Thelma Kline.Funeral services will be held at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:30AM with Pastors James H. Rhen and J. Thomas Lefever officiating. Interment will follow in Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service.
