Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era

The right to defend oneself

TO THE EDITORS:

I was listening to a gun discussion on short-wave radio. It reminded me of the murder of the elderly Elizabethtown man a few years ago.

If this man had his own gun and shot the bullies who robbed him, he would still be alive today.

To exercise our constitutional right to own a gun and our Biblical right to protect ourselves would deter most criminals from doing what they do, and put six feet under the ground the people who impede us from "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.''
