God doesn't dole out 'curses'

To the Editors:

Notre Dame did not lose to Alabama because of a curse. They lost because Alabama played better than Notre Dame.

I am a Catholic with common sense. God does not place a curse on people or on teams. That is not God's way. Indeed, if that were the case, God would have placed a curse on each of us for, at one time or another, someone has considered something we said or did as "diabolical work" or as "heinous evil."

I invite Mr. Weber to refer to Catechism of the Catholic Church, part three, Life in Christ, paying particular attention to those sections that discuss grace.
