"Bob" G. HummelRobert "Bob" G. Hummel, 85, of Reinholds, passed away, after a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.He was born in Berks County to the late Robert and Emma (Bellman) Hummel and was the husband of Alice L. (Rhoads) Hummel, with whom he was married for 52 years.Bob was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Rough & Tumble Society, Cocalico Sportsman's Association and Blue Bird Society of PA. He enjoyed photography and hunting. Bob participated in rifle competitions; he was a former York County Champion.Bob worked as a supervisor at Berk Tek and he worked in the maintenance dept. of Denver & Ephrata Telephone Company until his retirement.In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his brother, John "Jack," husband of Marguerite Hummel of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Marlene A., wife of Galen Sweigart of Denver; and a niece, Brook Sweigart, wife of Todd Reed of Denver.He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Hummel.Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver.
