Betty L. Dyer

Betty L. Dyer, daughter of Dean R. and Nella Guyer, was born on December 24, 1928 and died January 17, 2013 after a brief illness. She had two brothers, Dr. William Guyer of Portland, Oregon and John B. Guyer, deceased.Mrs. Dyer is survived by her husband, Richard L. Dyer, four children and three grandsons. Her children are Robbie L. Dyer of Tucson, AZ, Paul J. Dyer of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Jeffrey J. Dyer of Bel Air, MD and John R. Dyer of Augusta, GA. Her grandsons are Stuart A. Dyer of Arlington, VA, Ian M. and David J. Dyer of Bel Air, MD.Mrs. Dyer was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and moved to Maine with her husband when he was transferred by employment in 1956. She subsequently lived in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Vermont, South and North Carolina before returning to Lancaster, ­Pennsylvania in 1999 to the Willow Valley Retirement Community.She led an active life as a mother and in a host of volunteer and church related activities in the many communities in which she lived.
