TO THE EDITORS:

Jan. 22nd marked the 40th anniversary of legal abortion. Forty years of killing innocent babies. Washington should be ashamed.

Our nation was shocked once again to the slaughter of innocents at another school shooting.

Yet, everyday in our great nation the slaughter of innocents takes place daily without mention. The only difference is whether it was an "illegal act'' or a "legal act''; whether killed by mad gunman or killed by a doctor with no morals.

A nation that kills its babies does not deserve to be called a nation. The Founding Fathers wrote that everyone has inalienable rights to life, liberty and happiness.

We Americans not only believe this for our country but we also send our military around the world to defend and liberate the oppressed.

If people and nations do not grant respect and protection to both the born and unborn, then all our professed morals and values are meaningless.

The dignity of human life is not just a Biblical principle, it is the first principle of any civilized society.

Prenatal ultrasound is a great invention; you can now see the gift of life from God.
