Upset by characterization
TO THE EDITORS:
I'm writing in response to reporter Bernard Harris' recent article announcing that Mayor Richard Gray will be seeking a third term, which briefly mentioned me as an independent candidate.
Mr. Harris listed a satirical community Facebook page that I created, as if that is my profession, diminishing my credibility. Mr. Harris could have listed my real profession as salesman for a locally owned Lancaster city business, community fundraiser, former telecom professional or former police/fire dispatcher, but chose to list one of my 100 hobbies as if it is my profession.
Being a political newcomer going against a two-term incumbent mayor is a daunting challenge to begin with I don't need the Lancaster Newspapers to portray me as a joke because I moderate a comedy page a few hours per week.
