Pa. Supreme Court justice will visit
BY BRETT HAMBRIGHT, Staff Writer

A Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice is paying a visit to Lancaster County.

Justice J. Michael Eakin is expected to visit the county courthouse today and chat with employees of the clerk of courts office, according to Joshua Parsons, head of that office.

Eakin, justice on the high court since January 2012, is expected to credit Parsons and his staff for efforts to improve court efficiency. Eakin, a Franklin & Marshall graduate, also is expected to discuss other state courts.

Parsons said his office has worked hard to reduce case backlogs and improve overall efficiency here.

Parsons said the visit will be a surprise to his staff; he hasn't told anyone of the planned visit. Eakin is expected to speak over the lunch hour, according to Parsons.
