FUNDRAISERS:

·The Upper Leacock Township War Memorial Association will hold an indoor flea market/garage sale on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Veterans Hall of the War Memorial Building, 54 W. Main St., Leola.

More than 35 vendors will feature items such as crafts, children's toys, period jewelry, socks, collectibles, gift items, Avon, Longaberger baskets, seasonal arrangements, tools, fresh fruit and traditional flea market bargains.

There is no admission charge.

Proceeds from the flea market are used for the ongoing maintenance and repair of the War Memorial Building.

·A soup and sub sale will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. until sold out at the Schoeneck Fire Company, 125 N. King St., Denver.

All proceeds will benefit the fire company.

OPEN HOUSES:

·Montessori Academy of Lancaster, 2750 Weaver Road, will hold an open house on Thursday, Jan. 31.

Interested parents, grandparents or guardians of children age 20 months through sixth grade are invited to learn more about the school.

The open house will include a tour and an explanation of the Montessori philosophy. The elementary presentation will begin at 5:45 p.m. and the toddler/preschool presentation at 6:20 p.m.

·West Fallowfield Christian School 795 Fallowfield Road, Atglen, will hold open houses for families of prospective students on Thursday, Jan. 31, and Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The open houses begin at 6:30 p.m. with an information session, followed by guided tours, curriculum displays and time to meet the teachers. Kindergarten and preschool families will have the opportunity to see a typical day in the classroom.

The school has classes for preschool through eighth grade. Financial grants are available and bus transportation is provided from the Solanco, Octorara, Coatesville, Oxford, Pequea Valley and Unionville/ChaddsFord school districts.

·Lancaster Mennonite School will hold an open house Monday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at its four campuses -- Kraybill (Pre-K to grade eight), Lancaster (grades six to 12), Locust Grove (Pre-K to grade eight), and New Danville (Pre-K to grade five).

The event features guided tours and a question-and-answer time with administrators and admission staff at 7 p.m. at the Lancaster Campus and a PreK/Kindergarten presentation at Kraybill, Locust Grove and New Danville.

Locust Grove will include an informational meeting at 7 p.m. about the Spanish Immersion program..

SUMMIT: The Pennsylvania Dairy Summit will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6-7, at the Lancaster Host Resort, 2300 Lincoln Highway East.

A variety of educational sessions are planned during the summit. For a complete listing, visit padairysummit.org.

Dairy producers, family members and employees can register at $125 per person, discounted to $100 for additional people from the same farm. One-day rates also are available.

Deadline to register is Wednesday.
