A reason to listen to Wright
TO NEW ERA EDITORS:
I want to thank the New Era for its editorial on Rev. Jeremiah Wright. By clearly showing the context in which his remarks were made, the article portrayed a person to whom our attention should be paid.
If there is such a thing as divine justice, then some of the societal and political offenses to which he refers very well might merit God's condemnation of our nation.
Abuse in tone, yes, but no more so than many a statement made by politicians and televangelists with a much greater audience. Let us hope that the media give Wright's visit full coverage. That way he may be able to tell if he is actually calling on God to damn America, or is calling for the changes which will convince God to bless America.
