Shops opening at Mill Creek Square

At Mill Creek Square, the shopping center along Route 30, construction has begun on Noodles & Co., which will occupy a pad site near Route 30, to the east of the center's entrance.

The restaurant is one of four tenants that will open in the next several months at the shopping center at 2350 Lincoln Highway East. The others are Kiwi Yogurt, Veritas Christian Bookstore and Honeybaked Ham Cafe. They'll join Tran Nailery + Spa, which opened in December at the shopping center.

Noodles & Co. is a casual-dining restaurant that features Asian, Mediterranean and American-inspired dishes that have pasta or noodles, including Japanese Pan Noodles, Penne Rosa and Wisconsin Macaroni & Cheese. It also offers salads and sandwiches, with most dishes around $8.

The first Noodles & Co. restaurant opened in Denver in 1995. Today, there are nearly 300 restaurants in 23 states. This will be the first Noodles & Co. restaurant in Lancaster County and the seventh opened in Pennsylvania since late 2011.

The restaurant is expected to open in the spring.

Kiwi Yogurt is slated to open Jan. 31 in a 1,600-square-foot space next to California Tortilla in the row of stores near Red Robin restaurant.

Kiwi Yogurt will offer 16 flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt, along with more than 60 toppings. Customers make everything themselves before weighing it and paying 45 cents an ounce. It will have seating for 25.

Kiwi Yogurt is owned by siblings Matt Mealey and Ryan Conover. The business began in 2009 and now has 10 stores, mostly in the Philadelphia area. The Lancaster shop will have some 20 employees.

HoneyBaked Ham Cafe is taking a roughly 2,000-square-foot space in the southwest corner of the shopping center, close to PETCO. It is expected to open sometime in March.

In addition to selling HoneyBaked glazed hams and turkeys, the location will have a cafe selling sandwiches, soups and salads. It also will deliver lunch boxes and offer catering and have inside seating for 20 as well as some outside seats.

Over Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, the cafe tables will be taken out so the location can concentrate on selling holiday hams and turkeys. This local franchisee is owned by Lynn Thompson and is the first permanent HoneyBaked Ham location in Lancaster County. honeybaked.com

Veritas Christian Bookstore is slated to open in February, taking a 3,321-square-foot space at the southeast corner of the center, next to HoneyBaked Ham Cafe. Veritas, owned by Christal Burgess, previously had a store at Rockvale Outlets. veritaschristianbookstore.com.

Tran Nailery + Spa opened in December in a 1,600-square-foot spot near PETCO.

The salon offers a variety of services, including manicures and pedicures as well as facials, massages and waxing. It has eight pedicure chairs, four manicure stations and four private rooms. The business has 12 employees and is owned by Brandon Nunez.

Mill Creek Square, which opened its first stores in 2010, is a roughly 285,000-square-foot shopping center on a 35-acre site along Lincoln Highway East, between Tanger Outlet Center and Rockvale Outlets.

Major stores in Mill Creek Square include Kohl's, Staples, PETCO and Bed, Bath & Beyond. It is a development of High Real Estate Group.
