Proceeds from 8-ball tournament will benefit abused children
With a goal of shooting pool for fun and charity, the 13th Annual Harry Hutchinson-Jack Byerly Charity 8-Ball Tournament will be held Friday through Sunday at the Riverside Camping Association, 730 E. Strawberry St.
This year, the beneficiary will be Lancaster-based Court Appointed Special Advocates, which aids abused children with counseling and legal work.
Speed pool and fast-break pool will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday. The main tournament will begin on Saturday at noon, will conclude with final matches on Sunday, starting at noon.
The entry fee for the tournament is $40. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded in three categories: 8 and under, women's champion (on Friday), and the main tournament champion.
