Amos H. Zimmerman, 81, of 635 E. Farmersville Road, New Holland, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Ephrata Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian B. (Weaver) Zimmerman in 2006.Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Milton B. and Florence (Jackson) Zimmerman. He was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church.Amos had been a self-employed truck driver hauling lime, and in retirement drove for Penn Embryo.He enjoyed hunting, attending auctions and sales, and time with his family. During the Korean War he served with US Marines.Surviving are his sons, Jay E., married to Melanie A. (Mast) Zimmerman, Terre Hill, Lee E., married to Janet L. (Zimmerman) Zimmerman, Akron, PA, Lynford S. Zimmerman of Denver, and Mark A., married to Tammy (Schulze) Zimmerman, Bowmansville, a daughter Lou Ann, married to Jonathan A. Showalter, Newmanstown, 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Mary Yocum, Akron, Dr. F. Arline Zimmerman, Lititz, Erma, married to James Birky, Valparaiso, IN, Ruth Eckert, Ephrata, and his brothers, Carl, married to Jackie Zimmerman, Lancaster, Earl, married to Jane Zimmerman, Denver, Ken, married to Donna Zimmerman, Ephrata, and J. Clyde, married to Bonnie Zimmerman, Akron.He was preceded in death by a sister Laura Stauffer, and brothers John, Irvin and Roy Zimmerman.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Hwy., Ephrata, with Pastors Glenn Sauder, Gerald Fox and Jerold Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Church on Friday from 6 ? 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
