SFC Philip George Hammer II

US Army Ret. Age 51 of Pleasant View, TN, and a former resident of Lancaster, PA. January 19, 2013. Preceded in death by wife, Dawn Marie Hammer; mother, Mary Frohmander; and sister, Dehlia Hammer. He was employed by Bridgestone Americas, was an avid golfer; he worked hard, played hard and did everything to the fullest. Survived by wife, Cheryl Sauter Hammer of Pleasant View, TN; children, Timothy (Christine) Hammer of Nashville, TN, Stephanie Hammer of Pleasant View, TN & Gerald Saltkill of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Alloura Hammer; sister, Trisha (Steve) Kauffman of Lancaster, PA; brothers, George (Lori) Hammer of Lancaster, PA & Charles (Kathy) Hammer of Delaware; stepfather, John Frohmander of Florida; stepsister, Linda Frohmander of Florida; and stepbrother, John (Lana) Frohmander of ­Florida. Visitation will be at the church Thursday, January 24, 2013, from 2-7 p.m., with Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, January 25, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church, 601 Bell Road, Antioch, TN, by Father Jayd Neely. Interment Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Institute.
